Holistic Massage
is a deceptively simple but powerful form of healing, involving
touch, movement and energy, qualities long associated with well being and good health.
It is a gentle, rhythmical stroking and kneading of the body's soft tissues using oils, soothing
away tensions and relaxing and balancing mind and body.
Holistic from the Greek word 'Holis', means whole so this
massage means the whole person is treated - mind, body and spirit - rather than just the area of physical symptoms or stress.
What
is it? Holistic massage is a touch therapy used effectively as an aid to relaxation, helping to soothe away stress,
unknotting tense and aching muscles, relieving headaches and helping sleep problems. Generally involvingfull body massage,
it also seeks to alleviate the pressure and tension that the physical body may accumulate from day to day living. Full body
massage helps to keep the physical body in a balanced state to aid awareness of, and prevent distress that could occur through
stress and tension
What we do Holistic
massage therapists use alternate firm and gentle flowing stokes to create a combination that will alleviate tension and muscular
aches and pains whilst energising and invigorating the body.
The benefits Massage can stimulate and relax the body
and the mind. The skin, blood and lymphatic systems are stimulated, which boosts circulation, aids cellular renewal and removes
toxic wastes. As tense muscles relax, stiff joints loosen and nerves are soothed, and a feeling of relaxation and well-being
comes about.
Many of my clients combine Reiki sessions with Holistic Massage treatments,
to give an overall feeling of wellness this can be discussed on your initial visit
